Dear No Shoes Nation -

This is the most serious note Ive ever written you. I hope I never have to write something like this again, because I know the heart and soul of the No Shoes Nation. Good people who work hard, have fun and love life. Its who you are, and its why Im reaching out now.

As some of you may have seen in the media, things have been a little out of hand at some of the stadiums this summer and I dont know why. Year after year, weve all come together, lived the songs, shared the moment and walked away better people for the experience.

Last weekend in Seattle, a man named Benito Benny Enriquez came to the show with his friend Joey Smith. Enriquez never made it home; he was beaten to the point he died of trauma from blows to the head approximately three blocks from the stadium.

A 9:05 time stamp on surveillance footage shows the possible suspects. That was before I hit the stage, but Enriquez was at our show. I want our concerts to be a place everyone feels safe and a place where we all look out for each other.

We dont know what happened yet. But if you have any information, saw the people whore in this video or anything around what happened, please contact the Seattle Police homicide tip-line at (206) 233-5000.

One of the things I love about the No Shoes Nation is the way folks come together from around the country for our shows. We hear you in the parking lots; we see you from the stage. Weve always gotten together in joy, celebrated the moments that make life worth living and weve always taken care of each other.

I want to keep it that way. If you know anything about how Benny Enriquez died, please reach out. And going forward, were all there for a good time, but lets not overdo it to the point people are being ejected for disorderly conduct. Passion is one thing, thats something else.

This summer, Ive had some of the best shows of my life. You guys have brought so much energy, so much heat it feeds us up onstage. Given how many amazing faces I see out there, lets not allow a few people to overshadow the music, the heart, the time we spend together because thats not who we are, its not what the No Shoes Nation is about.

I love you guys. Lets help figure this out

Kenny
