Kenny clad in a dark sleeveless Grace Potter and the Nocturnals t-shirt hit Nashville like a house a-fire. From the opening of the New Orleans noir film until the last ringing note of Joe Walshs hard-charging All Night Long, Kenny showed just how much he missed the fans since he walked offstage in 2013.

In a 36 song set, Kenny relentlessly moved across the stage, engaged the fans and delivered an impassioned performance. Opening with Drink It Up from The Big Revival, the show was a romp featuring not just his hits but many of his guests best loved songs.

Taylor Swift took the stage as the living embodiment of everything Kenny's girl-with-a-dream Big Star represents, singing hard and showing off an explosive power in her delivery.

The spirit of friendship continued for the whole night. Grace Potter emerged from the shadows, providing harmonies on the current single Wild Child. She then returned to kick-off the nights six-song encore with "You & Tequila." Uncle Kracker reprised the pairs When the Sun Goes Down, then performed his breakthrough Follow Me and the a cover of Dobie Grays Drift Away.

There were redneck songwriters and Rock and Roll Hall of Famers. David Lee Murphy performed Dust on the Bottle among others, and Joe Walsh led the crowd in singing Happy Birthday to Kenny, before joining Kenny in some of the classics. Later newcomer Harmoni Kelley McCartys feverish take on AC/DCs Whole Lotta Rosie exploded into American Kids.

There were intimate moments as well. For Anything But Mine, so many fans held lighters and cell phones with flames aloft, the crowd was almost brighter than the stage.

That crowd was awesome, Kenny said. Talk about the greatest birthday present! Hearing them sing those songs back at me: its why the No Shoes Nation rocks. Nobody loves music like they do, and I am always amazed by how hard they throw that energy at us.

With two sold-out Bridgestone Arena shows starting his Big Revival Tour, Kenny is already leaning into summer with a vengeance.
