Eric Church /Zac Brown Band at Stadiums +Kasey Musgraves, Eli Young Band
Tampa, FL: Kenny Chesney has always brought country's brightest lights to America, from Keith Urban to Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts to Lady Antebellum, as well as musical intriguers Uncle Kracker, Sammy Hagar and Grace Potter & the Nocturnals. This summer is no different, as the man who's sold more than one million tickets on each of his last ten tours, taps newcomer and quadruple 2013 Academy of Country Music nominee Kacey Musgraves and 2012 ACM Single of the Year winner and multiple 2013 ACM nominee the Eli Young Band to open tour stops. Country Music Association 2012 Album of the Year Winner and ACM nominee leader Eric Church, will take the stage on 16 of the 19 stadium concerts while triple Grammy-winner and multiple ACM nominee Zac Brown Band, joins for three stadium shows - including a co-headline show in their hometown of Atlanta.
"Every year, I try to seek out music I think my fans are going to respond to... Maybe turn'em onto something new like Kacey or get'em deeper into something they know, but should know a little more like the Eli Young Band," says the 4-time Country Music Association and 4-consecutive Academy of Country Entertainer of the Year.
"Plus, to have Eric Church, who I think is the most exciting new guy out there, and Zac Brown Band, when we can get them back out with us, is a pretty great day of music. It's the kind of thing I'd go see, -- and I get to hear it every night."
Chesney, who played to over 70,000 at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Tuesday, kicks off his 2013 No Shoes Nation Tour at Tampa's Raymond James Stadium Saturday, March 16. He's ready to get back onstage, where the fans are.
"I've played a couple surprise, warm-up gigs: an acoustic Keg In The Keys show at the Hog's Breath, with just Clayton (Mitchell) and Kenny (Greenburg) on guitars and Wyatt (Beard) on keyboards, then the whole band at Freebird in Jacksonville. That sorta thing really fires me up, getting back to the music and being with the fans... But you play a couple of those shows, and you really want to get out there big with all the production, the screaming, the people singing along. And it's nice hearing the other bands every night when we're getting ready to get out there and play."
With "Pirate Flag," Chesney's 8th Top 25 debut, hitting #11 after just 6 weeks, Life On A Rock is off to a flying start. The April 30 release is available for pre-order now on iTunes with an instant grat track -- "Lindy" - that gives fans a different flavor from the project Chesney's calling "easily my most personal album ever."
